The human narrative
After our annual family holiday we are back into our regular activities, work etc.. During our holiday I did not photograph a lot. I also did not use any film but only used my trusted digital camera the Fujif XT3 combined with the 33mm lens.
On vacation I thought a lot about the direction(s) I want to take with my photography. Although I really like to photograph nature I will be making more images with a human aspect in mind. How it will develop I do not know but it is exiting to explore new ideas and photo projects.
Back in the Netherlands on several occasions i did night photography “close to home” experimenting on the idea of the “fleeting human narrative”. In this post I present some first results of one of my ideas I want to explore more. These are all images made with my digital camera.
I hope to create this kind of images with my 4x5 large format camera too. This will be a challenge given the technical characteristics of film. The reciprocity factor can lead to really long exposures. It will have to be a more daylight oriented photography using a ND filter to get the appropriate exposure times.
All images are edited with Affinity Photo and Capture One.
