When I only used my digital equipment I was mainly out and about in nature trying to create the most beautiful colourful images of a scene in nature. Woodland was my main subject. After some time I also got interested in creating black and white nature scenes. Colour pictures ended up to be too real for my taste.

The “black and white approach” gave me the opportunity to focus more on the subject forms and lines, creating my own vision of the scene in front of my lens.

This black and white approach ended up in converting a digital camera to a full spectrum camera, thus creating surreal black and white images (the infrared look). I am still working on my first black and white infrared magazine/book.

When I decided to do film photography for me it was a natural process to use black and white film.

And now after several rolls of 120mm film and more then 100 4×5inch film sheets, all black and white, the subject I want to shoot has also changed.

One of my recently started projects I have given the title “Water life”. This project is still in its stage of exploration. My goal is to create a buddy of work (magazine/book) that will document and tell a story about life on the water close to my home. I have enclosed some images of a location in Belgium.

I hope to create more of this kind of images with my large format (Intrepid) and medium format (Bronica) camera.

All black and white film I develop and scan myself. My favourite films at this moment are from the brand Ilford and Fomapan. I have edited the images with Affinity Photo and Capture One.
