Vacation in Romania
For this years vacation in Romania I decided to shoot only some film. I used my old Nikon F80, a Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D lens and a Nikkor 70 -210 mm F4 zoom-lens.
My photography was mainly focused on shooting portraits of family members (including the dog). I also did 3 short photo trips to shoot some dilapidated buildings nearby and some landscapes during sunset. In total I shot only 2 35mm rolls (Portra 400 and Kodak gold 200). Both rolls have been developed in Romania. It is always a risk to have undeveloped film with you when you have to pass baggage checkpoints on airports (risk of fogging film).
In this short post I have included 4 of my favourite images. All colour negatives are scanned with my trusted Fuji XT3, converted and edited in Capture One Pro at home. I am still working on optimizing the scanning and editing to get the results I like.
Somehow I like shooting film more then digital. The process of taking a photograph on film is somehow more engaging. Film photography also slows you down.
This fall I hope to shoot some colour film in my favourite local woodlands with my newly acquired 4*5 large format setup.
