Summer in the Mullerthal

The first weekend of July I was in the Mullerthal (Luxemburg), our annual stay with dear friends.

On Saturday the 1st of july I explored a new part of the Mullerthal woodlands near our campsite.

The weather was a bit more favourable than last year. It was rainy and cloudy, but no fog. There were also some sunny spells.

When you are in woodland photography the Mullerthal offers endless photographic opportunities. You can spend days in the woodlands of the Mullerthal and never be bored. It is not only all trees but also beautiful rock formations. These rock formations are characteristic for the Mullerthal and can be the main subject of the image or used as an intersting backdrop. This time I mainly focused on the interplay between the rock formations, the trees and the sparse (sun)light to create interesting compositions.

I hope to be back some time to photograph the autumnal colours of these woodlands in foggy conditions.

In this post I have enclosed my favourite images (landscape format) of that morning shoot. All Photographs are created with my trusted Fujifilm XT3 in combination with the 33mm f1.4 lens. The images are processed in Capture One with the Fujifilm Astia (soft) film simulation.

My favourite picture is the featured one of this post. I will make a print of this image.
