Infrared collection Eijsder Beemden
The Infrared collection Eijsder Beemden started in 2020. The first image was shot with my trusted Fujifilm XT2 using an IR720 filter. At home editing that first image, I was immediately intrigued by the bold contrast black and white infrared photography can create. After a while I converted this camera to a full spectrum camera. From that time on it was possible to create images without any long shutter speeds. All these years I visited the Eijsder Beemden many times. The Eijsder Beemden is a beautiful small nature park in my home village Eijsden in the Netherlands. The Eijsder Beemden is close to home, so a visit when the conditions are perfect is more convenient. This nature park, as small as it is, changes in all seasons, thus providing a lot of options.
All following images in this collection are shot with my “full spectrum converted” Fujifilm XT2 camera. For this project I used the small Fujifilm f2 primes (23mm, 35mm and 50mm). These lenses are light and practical to use but also do not show “hot spots” when doing infrared photography. I always used a 720nm infrared filter.
I visited this small park in all seasons and weather conditions. It does show that infrared photography can be done any time. However, the distinct infrared look is at its best in sunny conditions.
Please contact me if you are interested in more information (workshop) about infrared photography, this project, and or a print.
