4X5 photography Bosscherveld
Last Saturday morning I visited a location called Bosscherveld in Maastricht. In Bosscherveld there is a big concentration of houseboats. These are located in a tributary of the river Maas. This morning it was cloudy grey weather again. Perfect conditions for black and white photography.
Earlier this month I visited this location with my Ricohflex TLR. This time I used my Interpid 4×5 camera. I had loaded 4 filmholders with Fomapan 400 sheet film (total 8 negatives of black and white film). I shot in total 4 compositions. I used all 8 negatives. Of each composition I took a safety shot.
In this post you see all 4 compositions. My favourite composition is the featured photo. The featured image is cropped to a 16×9 format.
I developed the negatives at home and scanned these with my trusty Fujifilm XT3 using the LOWA 65mm macro lens. I edited the images using Affinity Photo (invert and dust removal) and Capture One (final edit).
I like the slow and tactile process of large format photography. With the 4×5 negatives you can create high resolution images that can be printed really big. This resolution is however difficult to present on the internet.
